The Tensoku Rock ( Japanese 天 測 岩 Tensoku-iwa , German 'observation rock ' , Norwegian Observasjonberget ) is a prominent rocky promontory on the Crown Prince Olav coast of the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises halfway between the Flattunga and the Tama Glacier .

He was mapped and photographed by participants in the Japanese Antarctic expedition, which lasted from 1957 to 1962, and who also named him. The US Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Japanese name into English in 1968.
