Teofil Wiśniowski (born January 2, 1806 in Jaslowez , † July 31, 1847 in Kleparów , Salisnyzja district ) was a Polish insurgent.

During the November uprising Wiśniowski organized the connection of the insurgents to Galicia . In 1838 he became a member of the Polish Democratic Society (pln. Towarzystwo Demokratieyczne Polskie ). From 1844 he went underground and from 1846 commanded the rebels in Galicia . After a battle with a squadron of Austrian hussars near Narajów (Ukrainian: Нараїв ) in Bereschany district on February 21, 1846, his unit disbanded and Wiśniowski hid in a village. On March 3rd, however, he was recognized by a Ruthenian farmer and handed over to the Austrians. The police investigation lasted until August, on September 10, 1846 the death sentence was passed. On July 31, 1847, Teofil Wiśniowski and Józef Kapuściński were hung up on Mount Stracenia (Ukrainian: Gora Strat ) near Lemberg . In 1894 an obelisk was erected at this point, which still exists today.
