Terence John Brain (born December 19, 1938 in Coventry , United Kingdom ) is Bishop Emeritus of Salford .

Life

The Archbishop of Birmingham , Francis Joseph Grimshaw , ordained him a priest on February 22, 1964 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Amudarsa and auxiliary bishop in Birmingham on February 5, 1991 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Archbishop of Birmingham, Maurice Noël Léon Couve de Murville , on April 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Joseph Gray , Bishop of Shrewsbury , and Crispian Hollis , Bishop of Portsmouth .

On September 2, 1997, John Paul II called him Bishop of Salford , the solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) took place on October 7 of the same year.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on September 30, 2014.
