María Teresa Galindo Mata (born November 12, 1970 in Mexico City ) is a former Mexican beach volleyball player .

Career

Galindo Mata played her first international tournaments from 1996 to 1998 with Laura Leticia Miranda Durán . Her best result during this time was 17th place at the world series tournament in Hermosa . In 1999 Galindo Mata formed a duo with Hilda Gaxiola . In the first year together they did not get past 25th place on the World Tour. They took part in the World Championships in Marseille , where they finished 33rd. In 2000, after finishing 13th at the home tournament in Rosarito , they reached the top ten for the first time as ninth at the Berlin Open. They also qualified for the Olympic Games in Sydney . After the opening defeat against the Australians Cook / Pottharst, they were eliminated against the Chinese duo Xiong Zi / Chi Rong and finished the tournament in 19th place.

At the first tournament with her new partner Mayra Huerta , Galindo Mata was ninth in the Fortaleza Open. Further top ten results followed in 2001 in Macau , Osaka and Maoming . At the 2001 World Cup in Klagenfurt , Huerta / Galindo won their group of three in the preliminary round and reached the first main round; there they were subject to their compatriots Gaxiola / García . In 2002 Galindo Mata played with Myrna Serrano Ochoa . At the Grand Slams in Marseille and Klagenfurt, the duo came in 17th place. With Laura Arevalo Dorantes , Galindo Mata did not achieve a top placement in 2003.

In 2004 she competed again with Mayra Huerta. After a 33rd place in Fortaleza there was place 41 in each of four other Open tournaments. In 2005 Galindo Mata played with Martha Revuelta . The best result this year was the 25th place at the final tournament in Acapulco .
