Teresa Ranieri

Teresa Ranieri (born August 4, 1966 in Bari , Italy ) is a choreographer and lecturer in contemporary dance . She received her first training at the Scuola Del Teatro Piccinni Di Bari, where she gained her first stage experience. There she danced ballet and the neoclassical repertoire of the theater in which she studied.

After six years she moved to Naples and studied at the Lyceum Mara Fusco . Then she went to Cannes , where she studied at the École supérieure de danse de Cannes Rosella Hightower (formerly Center de Danse International Rosella Hightower ). In 1988 she moved to Germany and danced as a soloist in various theaters.

In 1994 she joined the Tanzwerk Nürnberg under the direction of Dirk Elvert and Jean Renshaw , where she worked with many different choreographers such as Roberto Galvan, Jenny Coogan, David Bingham, Rik Kam, Dyane Elsout and Frank Händler, Amanda Miller, Rui Horta, Jacopo Godani and William Forsythe worked. In 1998 she followed the direction of the Tanzwerk Nürnberg in Dortmund to the Theater Dortmund . There she worked again with Rui Horta, Amanda Miller and Mark Dandy. In 1999 she danced for one season at the Landestheater Linz under the direction of Robert Pool. Since July 2000 she has been working as a freelance dancer , choreographer and teacher for ballet and contemporary dance. She is active in many European countries and has made guest appearances in Palestine , Japan and Korea . Teresa Ranieri has been teaching contemporary dance and choreography at the Anton Bruckner Private University in Linz and at the Escola Superior de Dança in Lisbon since 2004 .

During the 2001/02 season she was invited to the Nordhausen Theater as a guest choreographer , where she created “From one to zero”. In December 2002 she choreographed the world premiere of Stanley Walden's opera “Bach's Last Opera” at the Erfurt Theater . She was selected as one of the six SIWIC choreographers in August 2003 in Zurich under the direction of Carolyn Carlson . In July 2003 she was invited to the project "Colina (Collaboration In Arts)" as a choreographer. She was selected as one of the three Tanzhaus choreographers to take part in the “Dance Link NL & NRW” in December 2003 at the Korzo Theater The Hague . In March 2004 she was the winner of the third choreography prize at the 8º Tanz Solo Festival in Stuttgart with the solo “Libero Arbitrio” (Free Will).

In July 2006 she was invited to choreograph for the “Summer Dance” in Wuppertal . In August 2006, the Korean Dance Festival in Seoul selected European teachers for the first time; Teresa Ranieri was one of the two selected lecturers. In October 2006 she was invited to choreograph a piece for the company "X.IDA" in Linz .
