Terrace Ridge (English for Terrassengrat ) is a largely non-iced mountain ridge in the West Antarctic Marie Byrd Land . In the Ohio Range of the Horlick Mountains , it extends from the southern end of Mount Schopf in a northwest direction. The lower area of this ridge is characterized by banks made of resistant sandstone , which in parts form icy terraces , which in turn are segmented by steep slopes .
The ridge got its descriptive name from scientists at Ohio State University who worked in the area in two consecutive summer campaigns between 1960 and 1962.
