The former Mairie

Terre-Natale is a former French commune in the department of Haute-Marne . It was dissolved in 2012.

Duration

The municipality was created in 1972 from the three previously existing municipalities of Varennes-sur-Amance , Champigny-sous-Varennes and Chézeaux , of which Varennes was the largest place and thus also the seat of the new municipal administration. The new municipality also became the capital of the canton of Terre-Natale, which previously existed under the name of Canton Varennes-sur-Amance and whose capital was Varennes. With the departure of Champigny-sous-Varennes, which regained its municipal status in 1986, Terre-Natale was reduced to Varennes and Chézeaux. On January 1, 2012, these became independent again and the municipality of Terre-Natale dissolved.
