Hans von Matt (politician)

Hans von Matt (born January 3, 1869 in Stans , † March 22, 1932 ibid) was a Swiss politician ( Catholic-Conservative People's Party of Switzerland ).

Von Matt was a member of the Nidwalden district administrator from 1898 to 1910 and from 1931 to 1932 . From 1910 to 1931 he was a councilor, whom he presided over six times between 1920 and 1930 as mayor . From 1917 to 1932 he was Nidwalden National Councilor . In the 1920s he was "one of the leading figures of party-politically organized Catholicism ".

Von Matt worked from 1898 to 1923 as editor of the Nidwalden Volksblatt and was co-founder of the magazine Schweizer Rundschau in 1900 , after he had published the Swiss Litterarian monthly papers from 1895 onwards .
