Texas girl (original title: Sérénade au Texas ) is a French western parody from 1958, directed by Richard Pottier . The premiere in German-speaking countries took place on December 16, 1960.
action
The department store employee Jacques Gardel, who works in the music department in Honfleur and occasionally sings himself, learns from notary Quilleboeuf that he has inherited a Texan oil field. When the two get to Big Bend, they experience rejection and silence. They team up with the vaudeville artist Roderick and his two daughters Sylvia and Rose to free the city from the terror of the Black Riders, the man behind whom the banker of Dawson City can be exposed. They succeed in this in the end; the oil field can be taken possession of. Jacques stays in Texas, married to one of his daughters, Jérôme returns to France.
criticism
"Undemanding musical western parody with brightly colored colors - thematically thin, at best mediocre in terms of comedy."
