Théo Derot (born June 17, 1992 in Nîmes ) is a former French handball player .

The 1.93 m tall left back player initially played for Istres OPH . From 2015 he ran for HBC Nantes in the first French league LNH . Two seasons later he joined league rivals Pays d'Aix UC . Derot is on pause from August 2017 to April 2018 due to his cancer . In January 2019 he moved to Istres Provence Handball . He ended his career after the 2018/19 season.

On January 7, 2016, he ran for the first time for the French national team . At the following European Championship he was in the squad. He played a total of ten international matches in which he scored eleven goals.

Private

Théo Derot comes from a handball family. His father Gilles Derot was twice French champion with USAM Nîmes , his uncle Christian Gaudin four times.
