Théo Wenger

Theodor Wenger (born July 3, 1868 in Eriswil , † June 27, 1928 in Basel ) was a Swiss knife manufacturer.

Wenger studied in the USA theology and was 1890-1892 Reformed pastor in Billings (Missouri) .

After returning to Switzerland, he took over the management of the knife factory in Courtételle in 1898 , from 1908 under the name Wenger & Co ( Delémont ).

Théo Wenger was married to the painter and later author Lisa Wenger née Ruutz since 1890. He was the father-in-law of Hermann Hesse and the grandfather of the artist Meret Oppenheim and the actor Ezard Haußmann .
