Thérèse Meyer-Kaelin
Thérès Meyer-Kaelin (born May 17, 1948 in Châtel-Saint-Denis ) is a Swiss politician ( CVP ), former National Councilor and was President of the National Council in 2005 .
biography
The trained laboratory technician, who lives in Estavayer-le-Lac, began her political career in 1980 as a member of the city parliament. From 1991 to 1999 she was city president (syndic) of Estavayer-le-Lac and sat on the Grand Council of the Canton of Friborg from 1996 to 1999 before being elected to the National Council in the 1999 elections .
After the President of the National Council, Jean-Philippe Maitre, resigned from his position as Chairman of the National Council on March 1, 2005 because of a brain tumor , Thérèse Meyer-Kaelin was elected as his successor on March 8, 2005.
Among the 2011 elections Meyer-Kaelin came not more.
