Thúy Nonnemann

Thuy Nonnemann (* 28. July 1938 in Hai Duong , Hai Duong province , Vietnam ) is a German, in Berlin living human rights activist and migration expert of Vietnamese origin.

Life

Nonnemann was born in Vietnam and fled to Germany in the 1960s, where she married a German in Berlin in 1968. In addition to her work as a bank clerk for a Berlin company, she has been supporting refugees in their migration efforts on a voluntary basis since the mid-1970s. After her retirement in 2003, she devoted herself to her voluntary work in the Migration Council Berlin-Brandenburg (MRBB). Nonnemann has been a member of the Berlin Hardship Commission since 2005 and has been offering free advice from the Berlin-Brandenburg Migration Council for people threatened with deportation, among other things. Nonnemann is a member of the Moabit Prison Advisory Board and an external employee at the Tegel prison . She is also the group leader of a working group for Vietnamese long-term inmates and has been a member of the Berlin Executive Advisory Board since 2007 . Nonnemann has been a lecturer for intercultural competence at the Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection since 2006 and trains prison officers.
