The von Thüngfeld family was an old Franconian noble family and was also spelled Tunfeld , Tunfeldt , Thunfeld , Thunfeldt , Thünfeld or Thünfeldt .

history

Hermann von Thüngfeld, who was mentioned in 1172, is considered to be the ancestor. He was the progenitor of all lines and Bamberg Ministeriale . The castle in Thüngfeld near Schlüsselfeld was given to the brothers Heinrich and Hermann von Thünfeld from Bamberg's Bishop Arnold von Solms in 1293 as a castle hat loan for 200 pounds Heller. Since the beginning of the 14th century, the Lords of Schlüsselberg gained influence over the Thüngfeld Burgmannen. Parts of the former moated castle in Thüngfeld are still standing.

The lords of Thüngfeld belonged to the estates of the Bamberg monastery as tenants . As members of the free imperial knighthood , the family was registered for their imperial-free possessions in the knightly canton of Steigerwald . In the 18th century, the genealogist Johann Gottfried Biedermann presented the family lines on six family tables. Even if its ancestral lines are considered uncertain, it is still an essential historical source.

Lines were to Aschbach ( Aschbach Castle ) and Walsdorf (1399 to 1524, at the parish church tomb of Heinz von Thüngfeld, † 1500). The Burg Lisberg and the castle Trabelsdorf were temporarily in their possession. Steinbach and Isenbach are also mentioned as possessions.

Konrad (Kunz) von Thunfeld

Konrad von Thunfeld was one of the low-nobility supporters of Hans Böhm (Pauker von Niklashausen) . He was last imprisoned by the Würzburg bishop and only released again after he had ceded his property and swore an original feud .
