Mission statement of the Thüringenkolleg Weimar (level by level)

The Thüringenkolleg is a state institute of the second educational path in the Free State of Thuringia . The school authority is the Thuringian Ministry for Education, Youth and Sport .

The college offers adults with professional experience the opportunity to acquire the general higher education entrance qualification in a three-year full-time education. From 1994 to 2013, 872 students successfully passed the Abitur at the Thuringian College.

Parent-independent and repayment-free BAföG can be applied for for financing .

entry requirements

The minimum age for access is 19 years, whereby the deadline is August 1st of the year of admission. Requirements are a secondary school diploma or equivalent, completed vocational training or three years of professional activity and successful participation in an aptitude test in German and mathematics.

history

The Thuringian College was founded in Weimar on September 30, 1991 with a branch in Ilmenau . The training of the first fellows began first in a building of the Bauhaus University in the Coudraystrasse and immediately afterwards in the building of the former School for Social Affairs (the later teacher training institute and former Landbundhaus) in the Weimar Schwanseestrasse 11.
