The Catch was a British pop duo .

Band history

Don Snow first played with Sinceros, Squeeze and Lene Lovich . Andy Duncan was a seasoned studio musician who u. a. for David Bowie , Wham! , Madness , John Martyn and Toyah worked. In the spring of 1983, the two musicians, who were united by a love of dance music , met while recording in the studio. They formed a team and put their solo projects on hold.

In the same year they released their first single, "The Catch", 25 Years , in which Snow's falsetto became a trademark. The text is about a farmer who worked hard all his life and was sentenced to 25 years in prison for a petty theft. In Germany 400,000 singles sold in the UK , the project was unsuccessful.

Then Snow and Duncan split in the fall of 1983 due to musical differences. For Duncan came Chris Whitten. The two made their debut together in 1984 with the single Under the Skin and the album Balance of Wires . Funk , swing and pop were increasingly integrated into other projects, but there was no longer any great success.

As Jonn Savannah , Don Snow now produces meditation music . For the anniversary single 25 of the Fantastischen Vier he sang the hookline of the hit 25 Years in 2014 with slightly different lyrics.
