The Curtain Society is an American music group whose style is characterized by alternative , shoegazing and dream pop .
history
The group was founded in 1988 in Southbridge , Massachusetts . In addition to classic rock and pop music, her style was mainly influenced by releases from the 4AD label . After cassettes were initially sold in-house, the debut album Inertia was released in 1995 after a record deal signed with Bedazzled Records in 1993 and several single releases . The follow-up album Life Is Long, Still was released just one year later . In addition, some of the band's tracks were released on various samplers.
After a break of several years, sometimes interrupted for short tours, the EP Volume, Tone, Tempo was released in 2000 , the last release of their label, which ceased operations shortly afterwards.
In 2005, the band is now under contract with Orcaphat Records , their third studio album, Every Corner of the Room , was released. In the USA the CD was mentioned in the series Love, Lies, Passion and Shadow of Passion , which attracted a certain amount of attention and brought airtime on several radio stations.
