The Divide is an American television series in the legal drama genre. The series, which was originally developed for the TV station AMC , premiered on July 16, 2014 on the sister station WE tv . It was discontinued after an eight-part season.

content

The series examines, among other things, morality, ambition, ethics, politics and race in today's judicial system in the USA, seen from the eyes of a passionate social worker and an equally passionate prosecutor, whose views vary.

criticism

“The attempt by the US broadcaster WE tv to set up a drama series around a legal case, which primarily deals with questions of law and racism, makes a rather poor impression on its serial pilot. This is mainly due to The Divide's narrative style , which apparently does not fail to use all cultural clichés in order to establish its characters. Of course the son of the Pages has to rap, of course the white Christine has to fail because of that. "
