The Dome at America's Center is an indoor stadium in the US city of St. Louis , Missouri . It is part of the convention center, America's Center . It was the home ground of the St. Louis Rams of the National Football League (NFL) from 1995 to 2015 . The Rams were relocated to Los Angeles for the 2016 season . In 2020, the St. Louis BattleHawks football team from the XFL played their games in the Dome .
history
The stadium with 66,000 seats was completed in 1995 with the name "Edward Jones Dome at America's Center". It was opened on November 12 of the year at a cost of 280 million US dollars . The sponsor name was acquired by Edward D. Jones & Co., LP on January 25 , 2002.In the period from 2002 to 2016, the arena was named Edward Jones Dome . In February 2016, the sponsorship agreement was terminated by Edward Jones.
Events
The dome became the site of the largest indoor gathering in US history when Pope John Paul II held mass in the stadium in 1999 . Over 104,000 visitors were present.
