The Eye - Infinity ( Chinese  見鬼10  /  见鬼10 , Pinyin Jiàn guǐ 10 , Cantonese  Gin gwai 10 ; Thai : คน เห็น ผี 10 , international film title: The Eye 10 ) is a horror thriller of twin brothers Oxide Pang Chun and Danny Pang Fat from the year 2005, which was created in Sino-Thai co-production.

Contrary to the misleading title addition "10", this is not the tenth part of the "The Eye" series, but rather the continuation of the horror film series The Eye from 2002 and The Eye 2 from 2004.

action

Four young people from Hong Kong - Gofei, his girlfriend April and Ted and May - visit a mutual friend in Thailand, far away from the big city. The local Chongkwai first leads his visitors through his country and shows them various sights. During an excursion, they observe a traffic accident. In the evening the group comes to rest and ghost stories are told to each other until the host suddenly reveals to his amazed friends an allegedly authentic book about ghosts that contains ten different ways to observe ghosts . The literary work called "Ten Encounters", which is said to be based on ancient Thai legends, soon aroused the interest of the illustrious group. Driven by adventurous curiosity, one decides to follow an instruction to summon a ghost for entertainment . In fact, the first, harmless appearances make themselves felt. The young people are fascinated by the peaceful character of that ritual; other, more complex techniques are carried out.

Chongkwai warns his visitors to organize every “game” according to certain written rules, not to end it early, as he fears dangerous consequences. But already the second attempt gets out of hand, the five panic disregard all the regulations when four of them notice the presence of frightening ghosts. Yet another evocation is tried, until Gofei suddenly disappears without a trace during an evening game of hide-and-seek. A subsequent large-scale police search remains inconclusive. The lost person inexorably finds himself in a spirit world that holds him captive for life.

On the advice of Chongkwai's mother, Ted and May travel back to Hong Kong, shocked and unsettled, while April remains in Thailand to find their missing boyfriend. Shortly afterwards, April, robbed of her lover, chooses suicide .

In far-off Hong Kong, the two adolescents, Ted and May, are terrorized by the ghosts in a perverse game with the incomprehensible, who repeatedly push them into threatening situations in which they have to use one of the incantations. From now on they see peaceful ghosts as well as dead people in their environment, such as a mysterious young girl who once died in Thailand. Ted realizes that they have to face their cursed visions. The two travel back to Thailand to visit Chongkwai a month after their last visit.

With the help of his superstitious mother, the young host starts another dangerous ritual that is supposed to rob his two remaining friends of all visions. For this purpose, the test subjects briefly dive into the spirit world, where they meet Gofei and April by chance. The four friends are united in this surreal dimension, Chongkwai remains with the living when the four are suddenly asked to leave this unreal environment immediately. Gofei doesn't want to leave his adored April. Ted and May hesitate, but decide to leave the spirit world anyway, but it is already too late. They can no longer return to the realm of the living and are doomed to dwell among the spirits. Chongkwai survives with his mother.

At the end of the film, an unknown young man purchases another copy of the sinister book from a bizarre dealer that Chongkwai also bought earlier. History seems to repeat itself with changing people.
