The Fumes were an American punk band from Spokane , Washington .
history
The band released their debut album Knock Out the Axis in 1993 on Empty Records in the United States. The album was also available in Germany through the EFA distributor . Three years later followed - again via Empty Records - the second work Self-Appointed Guardian of the Machine , which shows stylistic similarities to bands like New Bomb Turks and Zeke .
The third studio album Pure Bad Luck was released via Scooch Pooch, with Epitaph Records responsible for distribution. In the review by Visions , it received 10 out of 12 possible points and was described as a way to bridge the waiting time for new albums from bands like Zeke or Puffball .
Sometime after the release of their last album Pure Bad Luck in 1998, The Fumes broke up. In the 2000s there were isolated concerts by the band, for example in Spokane in 2005 and in Seattle in 2006 .
