The Fuzztones are an American garage rock band.

history

The band was founded in 1980 in New York by singer and guitarist Rudi Protrudi . At the beginning of the 1980s they dominated largely the garage rock - Revival with. Until the breakup of the first formation in 1987, they achieved cult status in America and Europe through their live appearances, where they played cover versions of mostly "forgotten" songs from the sixties in addition to their own compositions. Through this extraction of garage punk and psychedelic rock , bands like The Sonics were rediscovered by a young generation of musicians who years later would trigger the grunge wave.

Although the Fuzztones signed to a major label early on, their main goal was never to have commercial success. They consistently played their "dirty" sound on their original 1960s instruments and are loved by a small but loyal following.

This was also followed by musical collaborations with Screamin 'Jay Hawkins or Sky Saxon (formerly The Seeds ) and other heroes from the earlier R'n'R universe. After a long break, the Fuzztones released Salt for Zombies , a newly recorded sound carrier, in 2003 .
