The Gathering (demo party)
The Gathering ( TG for short ) is a demo party that is held annually in Hamar , Norway .
Next to the Assembly in Finland and the now defunct The Party in Denmark, it is the third large demo and game party that has its roots in the early 1990s . Since the party takes place on the same date as the revision in Germany or its predecessor parties Breakpoint and Mekka & Symposium and the majority of the visitors are players, it receives less attention in the demo scene. Even so, the organizers of The Gathering are still careful to stay true to their roots in the demo scene. This is expressed, for example, in the higher prize money for the demo scene competitions (also known as compos, short for competitions) compared to the game competitions. Nevertheless, the audience of the party is less international than is usual at other large events in the demo scene.
The Gathering is also for their E-Sports -known poker tournaments.
In 2011 and 2013, the Norwegian hardstyle duo Da Tweekaz performed at the event .

The venue for "The Gathering" has been the Vikingskipet (Viking ship) built in Lillehammer for the 1994 Winter Olympics in the u. a. the disciplines of figure skating and speed skating took place.
