history

The four musicians met in 2008 as part of their jazz studies at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland). The band name goes back to the American hurdler Harry Hillman , who won three gold medals at the 1904 Olympic Games in St. Louis . While they were still studying music together, the band took part in 2012 after a long tour. her first album Livingston , which was released in 2013 under her own name. This was followed by tours in Germany , Great Britain , Belgium , Italy and other European countries. In 2015 the band won the ZKB Jazz Prize , which was judged by Jim Black, among others . In his quote, he describes the band as " the current definition of what it means to be a new young modern jazz band in these times. " In 2015 their second album Veer Off Course was released on the German label Klaeng Records . The current musical style of the band, which combines jazz , rock and improvisation , emerged with this album . In this regard, it is revealing that the four band members are also active in other musical genres . In May 2017, the American music label Cuneiform Records released The Great Harry Hillman's third studio album TILT. The band promoted this on a tour through Japan in May 2017 and with the release of a 360 ° music video of the same name.
