The young FBI agent Rebecca Locke is transferred to the Violent Crimes Unit (VCU) in Los Angeles, after which a member of the team there dies. What nobody except her and her boss Virgil “Web” Webster knows: she was abducted for 18 months at the age of 10 and therefore has a special gift to empathize with perpetrators.
