The Law of Ueki ( Japanese う え き の 法則 , Ueki no Hōsoku ) is a manga series by Tsubasa Fukuchi . It appeared from 2001 to 2004 in around 2300 pages and is aimed primarily at boys of elementary and middle school age, so it can be assigned to the Shōnen genre. The manga, which was translated into several languages, was followed by an anime television series and a second manga series.

action

Middle school student Ai Mori finds out one day that her classmates and crush of girls from the Kōsuke Ueki ( 植 木 耕 助 ) class have supernatural abilities and can grow trees from waste. When she follows him with her teacher Kobayashi, it soon turns out that he also has such abilities, transferred them to Kōsuke and now admonishes him that he has caused damage to other people with the trees. As a punishment for this, he loses his attraction to the girls.

Kobayashi is one of a hundred candidates who have a chance to become God. He has chosen Ueki to represent him in the so-called Battle Game , the struggle to follow God. The protégés of the divine candidates receive the gift of emptiness through which one can create every imaginable gift. In contrast to his opponents, other middle school students, who were also given special powers, Kōsuke fights for justice and puts his talents at risk to protect the innocent.

Publications

The Law of Ueki was published in Japan from July 2001 to October 2004 in individual chapters in the manga magazine Shōnen Sunday . The Shogakukan publishing house also brought out these individual chapters in 16 edited volumes.
