The National Orchestra of the United Kingdom of Goats (abk. UKOG ) is a "New Art-Rock" band from the Italian province of South Tyrol . The band's newly established style is called "Symphonic Grind Pop". The band sings about the fictional Kolepta and performs live with war paint, masks and uniforms.

history

The band was formed in 2010 and released the first EP The Chronicles of Sillyphus in February 2011 . Three months later the second EP was released, entitled The Three Walls of Kolepta . Both albums were self-produced and released under Creative Commons as a free download on the band's official website. On December 21, 2012, Vaaya and the Sea , the band's first long player, was released. The album was released both as a free download and as a physical phonogram. On April 30, 2016 the album Vargorok was released , which continues the story of Vaaya and the Sea .

style

The style of the band lies in the range between progressive rock , art rock and pop . The band itself describes their style as "Symphonic Grind Pop".

The lyrics are stories from the fictional Kolepta. Each album tells another part of a great saga. The band members themselves are also part of this story. They appear with war paint, uniforms and masks and are named "The Insane", "The Coachman", "The Admiral" and "The Seer". Furthermore, texts are published on the official website of the band, which complete the story and provide important background information.

The music magazine Eclipsed rated The Chronicles of Sillyphus with eight out of ten, and The Three Walls of Kolepta with nine out of ten points.
