The Pinnacles is a 759 m high mountain in the Coromandel Range of the Coromandel Peninsula on the North Island of New Zealand .
geography
The mountain is part of a mountain range that extends over the Coromandel Peninsula in a north-south direction, the Coromandel Range and is located around 19 km northeast of Thames . With its height of 759 m, it lies in the middle of the surrounding mountain peaks, which are up to 852 m high.
Mountain hike
There are two ways to reach the Pinnacles . The most common is the hiking trail across the Kauaeranga Valley from the town of Thames . The Kauaeranga Visitor Center of the Department of Conservation , which provides all hikers with the necessary information , is located on the gravel road to the starting point of the three to four-hour hiking trail . Another access is from the north of Coroglen . The path is longer and not so easy to reach for tourists.
