Zombie Rage (original title The Rage ) is an American splatter film directed by Robert Kurtzman from 2007.

A mad scientist develops a virus that drives infected organisms into a frenzy. He tests the virus on innocent people in his laboratory in a lonely forest. When one of the victims escapes and dies, corpse bats contract the virus and become cannibals.

The world premiere took place on July 13, 2007 at the Fantasia Festival in Montreal . In May 2011 a slightly shortened version in German synchronization was released on DVD. The United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, and Germany have age restrictions from the age of 18.
In 2010 an apparent sequel was staged with Rage 2 - Dead Matter . Except for the title, however, only the participation of actor Andrew Divoff in the lead role and Robert Kurtzman's participation as producer is a common feature of the two productions.
Reviews
filmstarts.de rates the film as a “puristic butcher orgy that knows its narrow horizon, doesn't give a damn about political correctness”, it offers “bloodthirsty effects”. The Fantasy FilmFest writes in its program: "... THE RAGE is a low-budget trash fireworks ..."
