About the background of the album title, singer Guy Kozowyk said the following:

Inspired by events where my brother, who is a prison guard, walks in on an inmate doing something ridiculous in his cell. The prisoner won't talk and gets into this dialogue via a notepad. After documenting that he can no longer talk because the devil removed his tongue, my brother checks the cons mouth with his flashlight. When he tells him that his tongue is definitely intact, the inmate replies with the cryptic message 'Pray for Eyes'

I was inspired by an event where my brother, who is a prison guard, walks up to a prisoner who is doing something ridiculous in his cell. The prisoner cannot speak and enters into this dialogue through a notebook. After learning that the prisoner could no longer speak because the devil removed his tongue, my brother checked his mouth with his flashlight. When he tells him that his tongue is definitely intact, the prisoner replies with the enigmatic message 'Pray for eyes' "

- Guy Kozowyk

The fourth and current studio album Fed Through the Teeth Machine was released on October 27, 2009 via Metal Blade Records.

style

The music of The Red Chord includes influences from death metal , grindcore and metalcore . Although the band is marketed as deathcore , they don't care what genre they are categorized into: " Some call us a grindcore band, others a death metal band, and still others a hardcore band. We're not one of them, we're just fucking loud. "
