The Regent Berlin (until 2004: Four Seasons Berlin ) is a 5-star hotel in the Berlin district of Mitte on Gendarmenmarkt . The building was designed by the architect Josef Paul Kleihues from the Kleihues + Kleihues office and implemented in the style of the so-called “ critical reconstruction ”. It is located at Charlottenstrasse 49, between Behrenstrasse and Französische Strasse .

Origin and history

The building was constructed from 1993 to 1996 by the Four Seasons group ; Architects were Kleihues + Kleihues . From 2004 to 2010 the hotel was operated by the Rezidor Hotel Group under the name The Regent Berlin . It was the first hotel in the company's history to be abandoned. The Regent Berlin has been part of the Formosa Hotel Group since 2011 .

The hotel has 156 rooms with French balconies , 39 of which are suites . The usable area is 28,000 m². The construction costs amounted to 150 million euros . The building is a prime example of the architectural concept of Hans Stimmann , the former director of building affairs in the Berlin Senate . Travertine was used for the facade . The eaves height is strictly based on the surrounding buildings.

The Fischers Fritz restaurant was awarded two Michelin stars from 2007-2017 under Christian Lohse . The Charlotte & Fritz restaurant has been there since 2018 .
