The Rhythm Jesters were a Canadian rockabilly group.
Career
Founder Bob Davies (born May 3, 1937 ) comes from Montreal and formed his first band in 1953, the Down Yonder Boys . He later joined the bassist Curly Robertson, and in 1955 it became the Rhythm Jesters with guitarist Rick Munro . They performed rockabilly and rock 'n' roll in bars and pubs. Meanwhile, members of the Canadian CFCF became Hometown Jamboree . After the group auditioned unsuccessfully for RCA Records , George Morgan, a friend of the new drummer Emmet McGoogan, referred them to the Rama label in New York City .
Their first single, Rock To The Music / Hole In The Bucket , was released in 1956. Then they began a tour of the United States. There were more singles of the Rhythm Jesters; after that the band split up and the members went their own way. Bob Davies recorded records well into the 1970s.
