The Strypes were a rhythm and blues band from Cavan , Ireland . The formation of the band with Ross Farrelly (vocals, harmonica), Josh McClorey (guitar, vocals), Pete O'Hanlon (bass, harmonica) and Evan Walsh (drums) was created in 2011. Their music is based on rock'n'roll - and blues performers and bands like Chuck Berry , Bo Diddley , Howlin 'Wolf , Little Walter , Dr. Feelgood , The Yardbirds , The Rolling Stones and The Animals .

history

In 2012 they started playing at festivals in Ireland and the UK. Her first EP Young, Gifted & Blue jumped straight to number one on the iTunes Blues Charts. They were highly praised in the British music press. Her admirers include Elton John , Paul Weller , Jeff Beck and Noel Gallagher .

In 2013 they appeared on the Jools Holland program and at the Glastonbury Festival . In Germany they could be seen live at Rock am Ring and at the Haldern Pop Festival .

Her debut album, Snapshot , which was released in September 2013, was produced by Chris Thomas , who has worked with the Beatles and the Sex Pistols .
