background
Mandy Capristo released a short snippet version of the single on March 1st . On March 14th, Let's Dance viewers were able to hear a new excerpt from the song. On March 15, an acoustic version of the song was presented, which also appeared on the single. Capristo commented on the single selection: "There have been so many songs that were attributed to me, that we wrote together, or that I wrote, but when I heard 'The Way I Like It' I thought: ' That's it!' For me that is the most beautiful single. "
Video shoot
The video first aired on MyVideo on April 5. The director was Lennart Brede , who also shot the video for This Is Me for Monrose . In total, the shoot lasted over 20 hours and three different shots were selected. At the beginning, Capristo walks through the gates of the ruins of the Beelitz Heilstätten in a pink haute couture dress. Capristo said: “We wanted to get a contrast to a haute couture dress and went into an old ruin and shot there. It was definitely very cold. ”Finally, she moves through the walls of the building, dancing. Dream-like flashbacks are played in black and white. She lies in the arms of an unknown man and ensnares him with her eyes.
In the end it starts to rain through the roofs of the old building so that it gets completely wet. “I had to do a rainy scene at 3:30 that night. The water for it was not heated. ”In addition, pictures are shown in black and white of her in a black outfit on a ledge of the castle. The video ends with the scene in which the unknown man carries Capristo out of a room. It is dimmed to black.
criticism
- Bravo.de says it's a terrific single and a perfect start after Monrose's demise .
- The music magazine Yagaloo was surprised at Capristo's change of heart. You would have expected a ballad, but are still enthusiastic about the new sound. They also reveal that the text is very simple, but still stays in the ear.
- However, negative criticism also came from the music magazine Yagaloo , which criticized the similarity to Rihanna and Beyoncé Knowles .
