Yagaloo

Yagaloo is a TV music magazine that has been shown on the private regional television broadcaster TV Berlin since April 2007 . Since June 2009 it can also be seen on the TV channel TIMM , since October 2009 also on iMusic1 and the regional TV channel SKB Stadtfernsehen Brandenburg. The format was developed by the former TV Berlin editor Michael Weiner. Since May 2009 he has been producing and moderating the format himself.

With this format, the artists themselves guided the program in the first few years. Well-known artists such as 5BUGS , Adam Green , Bakkushan , Bell, Book & Candle , Blue Man Group , Bosse , Cinema Bizarre , Culcha Candela , D-Flame , Daniel Schuhmacher , Debbie Rockt , Die Happy , Die were already present as moderators Stars , Dominik Büchele , Donots , EL * KE , Elli , FR , done, go! , Photos , Fräulein Wunder , Großstadtgeflüster , Ich + Ich , Itchy Poopzkid , Jan Sievers , Jerx , KIZ , Kain , Kaliber , Carpathian Dog , Kate Hall , Killerpilze , Lexy & K-Paul , Livingston and Lou Bega .

Editor-in-chief and presenter Michael Weiner, who also moderated the show as Howie Yagaloo , carried out two successful crowdfunding campaigns for his show on Startnext in 2014. Because of this, Yagaloo.TV was nominated in 2015 by the Senate Department for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises for the Berlin Crowdfunding Prize from Project Future. The format took second place.

Yagaloo is committed to the next generation of musicians, especially from the Berlin-Brandenburg area, but newcomer bands from Germany and abroad have also been studio guests on the show over the years. Moderator Howie Yagaloo is a juror in a wide variety of youth band competitions. In 2012 Howie was on the jury of Germany's largest newcomer competition, Local Heroes . In 2014 he moderated this event in Salzwedel. Also in 2014 Howie moderated the Local Heroes finals in the state of Brandenburg and also supported the jury there.

In 2015 he was on the jury at the Young Music Contest with the musicians Nader Rahy, Basti from The Baseballs and Thomas Godoj .

In 2016 he was on the jury of the Young Music Contest at the Teltower Stadtfest together with the singer Bria Drain and the music producer Michael Beckmann.

Howie Yagaloo is also a regular member of the jury for Hard Rock Rising, the international band contest of the Hard Rock Cafe chain .

In 2017 he was a juror at the “ Sehsuchte 46th International Student Film Festival ” alongside the musician Claus Capek, the director Uwe Flade and the camerawoman Lotta Kilian for the “Music Video” section.

Awards

In April 2008, Yagaloo was awarded the Regiostar 2008 as “best magazine on a German regional television broadcaster”. The jury justified its decision with the innovative approach, the professional preparation and the range of topics that appeal to young and old.
