The Whitest Boy Alive was a music group founded in Berlin that emerged from a project for electronic dance music launched in 2003 . From 2006 to 2014 the band consisted of Erlend Øye ( vocals , guitar , member of Kings of Convenience ), Marcin Öz ( bass ), Sebastian Maschat ( drums ) and Daniel Nentwig ( keyboard ).
history
In their development, the band abandoned the originally electronic concept, so that the debut album Dreams , released in 2006, only contains titles with English-language texts and without electronically programmed elements.
From 2006 to 2012 the band toured annually and gave more than 180 concerts worldwide.
On June 2, 2014, the band announced their breakup. A few months later, Erlend Øye said the breakup was related to health problems.
In May 2019, the band members did not play songs from their albums in public and thought about "one or two concerts". In September 2019 the band announced that they wanted to give two concerts a year with a maximum of one hour.
