The ship was built in 1929 for Rudolf Schepers from Haren (Ems) at the Wolthuis & Sohn shipyard in Veendam in the Netherlands as a tug. In the following years it was rebuilt several times and from the 1950s onwards, in particular for supplying the East Frisian Islands and the like. a. used building materials, as well as on the rivers and canals in North West Germany after 1950, a new Jestram engine with 100 hp power had been incorporated. In a further conversion, the cargo space was increased, the carrying capacity of the ship increased from 258 t to 331 t. In 1972 the ship was equipped with a Deutz engine with 230 hp.
In November 1990 the ship was decommissioned and in 1991 the Heimatverein Haren (Ems) bought it as an exhibit for the Maritime Museum on the Haren-Rütenbrock Canal in Haren (Ems). There are various exhibits on the ship. a. on the ship, on the history of Haren boatmen's families and the remains of a sunken Pünte . In 2013 the ship was restored in the Kötter shipyard in Haren (Ems) and made fit to drive again.
The hold of the ship was initially provided with two hatches , a larger, rear hatch and a smaller, front hatch. During a conversion, the ship was equipped with a continuous hatch. The hatch is closed with wooden hatch covers that rest on shear sticks and protected against overflowing water with a tarpaulin . Behind the hold is the flat deckhouse with the wheelhouse .
