Thea Arnold

Thea Arnold (born December 11, 1882 in Fulda ; † January 26, 1966 in Düsseldorf ) was a German politician ( center , later GVP and BdD ).

Life

After attending a high school for girls and the teachers' seminar in Duderstadt , Arnold was a teacher at various elementary schools in Hanover from 1901 . From 1911 she worked at various middle and high schools in Koblenz and Düsseldorf. From 1919 she was the rector of an elementary school in Düsseldorf . Until 1949 she was teaching at the University of Cologne .

Arnold was a member of the German Bundestag for one electoral term from 1949 to 1953 . She first represented the German Center Party , which from December 14, 1951 formed the Federal Union faction with the Bavarian Party . On December 9, 1952, she joined the newly founded GVP with Helene Wessel and Hermann Etzel, as well as the CSU MP Hans Bodensteiner . However, she left the party again in 1954 and ran for the Bund der Deutschen (BdD) for the state election in North Rhine-Westphalia . Together with Wilhelm Elfes , she led this party in the 1950s.
