Theinfeld

Theinfeld is a part of the municipality of Thundorf i.UFr in the Bad Kissingen district . It is located at an altitude of 328 m above sea level. NN. at the foot of the 419 m high Dürnberg on the road from the core municipality Thundorf to Großwenkheim (to Münnerstadt ) and has around 220 inhabitants (as of September 20, 2006).

history

Theinfeld was first mentioned in 1194. From 1317 it belonged to the county of Henneberg until it was transferred to the diocese of Würzburg in 1354 . In 1676 Theinfeld was sold to the Rosenbachs. The place was largely spared from war damage in the Second World War, but 21 of the 51 combatants died. On January 1, 1972, the previously independent community was incorporated into Markt Maßbach . On May 1, 1978, Theinfeld with its then almost 200 inhabitants was spun off again and assigned to Thundorf in Lower Franconia.

Theinfeld is represented by two councilors in the twelve-member town council of Thundorf.

religion

Theinfeld has a Catholic church dedicated to Saint Matthias in Dorfstraße. Evangelical parishioners are looked after by the evangelical parish in Thundorf.

Theinfeld can be reached via the Thundorf- Schweinfurt bus line . The nearest train station is in Münnerstadt, around 6 km to the west.

societies

In addition to the local volunteer fire brigade, the traditional costume band, the farmers' association, the hunting association and the KJG St. Matthias should be mentioned. The music center and the Frankenstube restaurant are the main venues.
