Theodor Berndt

Theodor Berndt (born October 24, 1838 in Kuttlau ; † April 1, 1916 in Hamm ) was a German teacher and politician .

Life

Born as the son of a magistrate , Berndt studied theology and philosophy in Halle after attending grammar school in Neustrelitz and Friedrich Wilhelm grammar school in Poznan . During his studies in 1857 he became a member of the Salingia Halle fraternity . After graduating, he worked as a preacher and teacher. In 1864 he became a teacher at the Friedrichs-Gymnasium Herford . He also studied philology at the Münster Academy. In 1883 he became a senior teacher and in 1890 a professor . From 1895 he worked at the Hamm high school . In 1902 he became an honorary member of the Evangelical Workers' Association in Hamm . From 1903 to 1908 he was a member of the National Liberal Party of Westphalia in the state parliament .
