Theodor Brinek senior

Theodor "Turl" Brinek Sr. (* August 8, 1898 ; † July 25, 1974 ) was an Austrian national soccer player .

Turl Brinek was a regular player in the runner series of the Meidlinger football club SC Wacker Vienna from 1923 to 1928 . With the black and white he was able to establish himself in the middle of the table and was also called up in 1927 by Hugo Meisl in the Austrian national team. On March 20, he played his only international game in a 2-1 draw against Czechoslovakia .

Turl Brinek became known, not only with the Viennese, but also with the Innsbrucker Wacker . In 1959 he took over the Tyroleans as coach for the first time and, after an interlude at Wolfsberger AC in 1964, was able to lead them into the highest Austrian league for the first time in their club's history .
