Theodor Cerny

Theodor Cerny (born November 3, 1898 in Allentsteig ; † June 20, 1981 in Gmünd ) was an Austrian master stonemason and politician ( ÖVP ). Cerny was a member of the Austrian National Council from 1945 to 1966 .

Life

Cerny attended elementary school and then moved to a high school. After graduating from high school, Cerny studied law for four semesters and completed an apprenticeship as a master stonemason. Cerny worked as a tax clerk and master stonemason and was the owner of A. Ullrich & CO, granite and syenite works in Gmünd. Cerny was a member of the Gmünd municipal council between 1929 and 1938 and was appointed state guild master in 1945. He was also President of the Lower Austria Chamber of Commerce and chief district party chairman of the ÖVP Gmünd. Between 1940 and 1941 he was imprisoned on a political prison sentence. Cerny represented the ÖVP between December 19, 1945 and March 30, 1966 in the National Council.
