Theodor Haller (politician)

Theodor Haller (born June 9, 1841 in Veltheim , † February 2, 1887 in Föhr ) was a Swiss lawyer and politician .

biography

Theodor Haller studied at the Universities of Basel , Heidelberg , Munich and Goettingen jurisprudence . In Heidelberg he became a member of the Corps Helvetia in 1860 . In the same year he graduated. In 1862 he acquired the Aargau advocate patent . After a two-year internship with a Bruges advocate, he set up his own law firm there in 1864. He led the office until 1885.

At the local political level, Theodor Haller was a member of the Bruges City Council from 1871 to 1884 . He was a member of the local school administration.

In 1868 Haller was elected to the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau and was a member of it uninterruptedly and several times as president until the year of his death. He was a member of the Aarau Tax, State Accounting and Gotthart Subsidy Commission from 1878 and was involved in the construction of the Aarau Cantonal Hospital .

From 1872 to 1878 and from 1884 to 1887 he was a democratic member of the canton of Aargau in the National Council .

Haller was a member of the Synod of the Reformed Church in Aargau .
