Theodor Hemptenmacher

Eduard Theodor Hemptenmacher (born December 18, 1853 in Berlin ; † November 18, 1912 there ) was a German administrative lawyer and banker .

Live and act

After studying law, he began his career in the Prussian administration: in 1879 as a court assessor in Berlin, then as a government assistant at the military and building commission, around 1883 as an unskilled worker in the Ministry of Finance, in 1886 as a councilor at the government in Berlin, in 1887 at the police headquarters and in 1891 to be effective as a conductor in the construction department.

In 1894 he was employed as a senior administrative judge at the higher administrative court in Berlin. In 1897 he was appointed State Commissioner at the Berlin Stock Exchange and Secret Upper Government Council, most recently as Real Secret Upper Government Council, after this position was newly established with the Stock Exchange Act of June 22, 1896. As such, he was one of the proponents of stock market reform. At the same time he wrote a commentary on the Stock Exchange Act.

In 1909 he was appointed director of the Commerz- und Discontobank in Berlin. Here he was also involved in founding the Bank Insurance Association of the German Banking and Banking Industry (BVV / 1909) . From 1904 until his death he was also the 11th captain to lead the lawless society in Berlin .

Theodor Hemptenmacher died after a long illness at the age of 58 in Berlin and was buried on November 22nd, 1912 in the old St.-Matthäus-Kirchhof in Schöneberg . In the course of the leveling of the cemetery carried out by the National Socialists in 1938/1939, his remains were reburied in the south-west cemetery in Stahnsdorf near Berlin. His grave there has been preserved.
