Giesebert Friedrich Carl August Georg Albrecht Riedesel Freiherr zu Eisenbach (born July 30, 1813 in Altenburg (Alsfeld) , † February 13, 1885 in Lauterbach ) was a Hessian landlord from the Riedesel family , hereditary marshal of Hesse and officer. As a registrar he was a member of the first and second chambers of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse and the Prussian manor house .

He was the son of the Chamberlain and President of the 1st Hessian Chamber Carl Ludwig Johann Hermann Riedesel zu Eisenbach (1782–1842) and his wife Karoline Wilhelmine, née von Steube. He married Anna Philippine Leopoldine Maria Klara Luise Freiin von Stosch-Siegroth (1824–1899) on May 1, 1843 in Darmstadt . His older brother Georg Riedesel zu Eisenbach (1812–1881) was also a member of parliament as a civil servant. His daughter Hermine (1845–1875) married the entomologist Lucas von Heyden (1838–1915). His son Moritz Riedesel zu Eisenbach became a member of the state parliament.

Career

He embarked on a military career in the Electoral Hessian Army and in 1833 became Second Lieutenant in the Chevaux-Légers Guard Regiment , where he rose to major and regimental commander until 1859 . In 1864 he was appointed lieutenant colonel in the I. Reiter Regiment and in 1867 colonel of this regiment. In 1870 he retired. From 1878 he was the head of the Kaufungen Abbey, succeeding his brother .

In the 15th to 20th electoral term (1856–1872) he was a member of the second chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. In the estates he represented the group of deputies of the manorial nobility. He represented liberal-conservative positions. As a registrar he was also a member of the first chamber. From 1883 to 1885 he was also a member of the Prussian mansion due to a hereditary seat according to a royal ordinance. In 1848 he was a member of the preliminary parliament .
