Moritz Riedesel zu Eisenbach

Moritz Georg Ludwig Hermann Riedesel Freiherr zu Eisenbach (born March 21, 1849 in Darmstadt ; † March 27, 1923 ibid) was a Hessian nobleman from the Riedesel family and an officer. He was a member of the first chamber of the state estates of the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

Riedesel zu Eisenbach was the son of Hereditary Marshal Giesebert Riedesel zu Eisenbach (1813-1885) and his wife Anna Freiin von Stosch-Siegroth (1824-1891). He was of Protestant denomination and married in Zeist on April 27, 1876 Anna Blaauw (1852-1927), the daughter of the Dutch major Gerrit Cornelius Blaauw. Their daughter Katharina Riedesel Freiin zu Eisenbach (1883-1969) married on October 25, 1906 Wilhelm von Schlitz called von Görtz (1882-1935), the son of Emil von Schlitz called von Görtz .

Life

Riedesel zu Eisenbach embarked on a military career and joined the 1st Hessian Dragoon Regiment in 1866, where he became a lieutenant and in 1871 a prime lieutenant.

In 1878 he became head of the Kaufungen Abbey . From 1894–1897 he was a member of the First Chamber of the 29th – 30th as a representative of his uncle, Hereditary Marshal Georg Riedesel zu Eisenbach . State Parliament of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. 1897–1918 he was an elected member of the First Chamber of the 30. – 36. State Parliament of the Grand Duchy of Hesse. He was elected on December 20, 1897.
