Count Friedrich Wilhelm August Franz von Schlitz called von Görtz (born January 5, 1882 in Schlitz , † June 30, 1935 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a Hessian gentleman and member of parliament.

Schlitz called von Görtz was the second son of Emil von Schlitz called von Görtz and his wife Sophia de Villeneuve Cavalcanti d'Albuquerque (1858-1902). He was a Protestant denomination and married on October 25, 1906 in Darmstadt Catharina (Cateau) Freiin zu Riedesel zu Eisenbach (1883-1969), the daughter of Moritz Riedesel Freiherr zu Eisenbach and Anna Blaauw (1852-1927).

Life

Schlitz called von Görtz attended high schools in Weimar, Kassel and Eisenach and in 1909 became a lieutenant in Dragoon Regiment No. 23 in Darmstadt. After the death of his father in 1914, he took over the class rule. His older brother, Carl August Konstantin, Hereditary Count von Görtz had died in 1911, so that he moved up in the line of succession. As a Hessian nobleman, Görtz was a hereditary member of the First Chamber of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . The mandate ended with the November Revolution of 1918. During the First World War he did military service and retired in 1919 as Rittmeister à la suite in Dragoon Regiment No. 23, Darmstadt.
