Theodor Her
Theodor Her (born July 30, 1838 in Rot an der Rot , † 1892 in Munich ) was a German painter of atmospheric landscapes.
Born in the family of a notary, Her studied painting at the art school in Stuttgart with Karl Josef Bernhard von Neher . After studying, Her went to Paris from 1868 to 1870 . then studied from January 20, 1870 at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Arthur Freiherr von Ramberg .
Theodor Her settled in Munich. In 1890 he traveled to Rome and Olevano. In addition to painting, he also engaged in nude photography of male models.
Theodor Her repeatedly visited Langenberg in the Rhineland. The silk manufacturer stone local bequeathed in 1919 large parts of its collection of paintings of the city Langenberg for the newly built community center . 55 works by Theodor Her are preserved in the “Stein'schen painting collection”. The collection is mostly in a magazine.
A street was named after him in his hometown of Rot an der Rot.
