Theodor Klotz-Dürrenbach

Theodor Klotz-Dürrenbach (born March 12, 1890 in Oberamt bei Scheibbs ; † February 7, 1959 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter and graphic artist .

Life

Klotz-Dürrenbach studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts with Alois Delug , Rudolf Jettmar and Kasimir Pochwalski . Study trips took him to Holland and Sweden , where he received numerous commissions for portraits. From 1914 to 1916 and from 1928 he practiced the teaching profession, in later years he worked as a specialist inspector for art education.

From 1953 he made an annual trip to Italy.

His main interest was portrait painting and the nude , it was only in later works that he increasingly turned to landscape painting and flower painting .

Memberships

From 1920 to 1939 he was a member of the Vienna Secession and then at the Künstlerhaus Wien .
