Theodor Levin

Theodor Levin (life dates unknown) was a German art historian and art writer . Until the beginning of the 1890s he worked as a curator and librarian of the art and literature collection as well as professor of art history at the Düsseldorf Art Academy .

Life

Little is known about Levin's life. As Karl Woermann's successor , Levin was appointed curator of the art and literature collection and teacher of art history at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. As such, he was replaced by Friedrich Schaarschmidt in the early 1890s . His repertory on the collections of the Düsseldorf Art Academy (1883), his biography on the painter Eduard Bendemann (1885) and his contributions to the history of artistic endeavors in the Palatinate-Neuburg house (1904–1910) are of particular art historical importance .

In 1894 Levin lived in Düsseldorf - Pempelfort at Scheibenstrasse 2.
